The Husband As Priest, Prophet and Protector by William F. Hill
Long before the church was born (Acts 2), Marriage was instituted and ordained by God (Genesis 2) in the Garden of Eden. Does this mean Marriage is important and the Church is not? The answer, of course, is no. However, it does seem strange that so much effort is expended to build the Church while some of the same men put so little effort into making their Marriage a success. It accomplishes little good to pray God’s blessing on the Church without corresponding blessing on the Family. Why is this so? Because the Church is made up of families. If there is bitterness, unforgiveness and hatred in the Family, there will be bitterness, unforgiveness and hatred in the Church. Multiply the problems by the number of Marriages or Families, and that is the number of problems you will have in the Church, plus some extra. While I intend this book especially for the Husband, there will also be profitable teaching for the Wife. The importance of the Husband being right with God and his Wife cannot be overemphasized. God has placed the greater responsibility on the Husband, although the wife also has a great responsibility. It is written to stir you to be the man God wants you to be. It is written to encourage you to be the Husband your wife thought she was marrying. If you will read this book with a humble and open heart, you will be amazed, and yes, even blessed as God reveals truths to you.
